      ORDER PROCESS IN DETAIL

      1.     Contact me through this website.   I will call you if you provide your number and prefer to receive a phone call.  We will discuss choosing a preferred composition, size and media.

      2.    Send reference photograph(s) by e-mail or by regular mail. (See taking reference photos below)  I can take reference photos for you if you are located in the central Ohio area, however, some travel charges may be charged if I travel to take the reference photographs. Several photos, one close, one in the pose you want would be ideal -- however, if the pet is no longer living and you only have one photo, send it and let's see if any other information is needed to create a treasured portrait.

      3.   Part of your approval process includes approving a composition -- that is the pose and background, if any.  I can send you a small work-up of the composition by e-mail for your approval.

      4.    Once a size, media and composition are chosen, a fifty per cent deposit is required for me to begin the portrait.  I will accept PayPal, money orders, personal checks or cash.  However, money orders and personal checks must clear at my bank before work can begin.   Checks and money orders must be for the correct amount.

      5.  I will send you an e-mail of the final portrait for your approval, if you so desire.

      6. & 7.    Once the portrait is approved, the rest of the portrait cost plus mailing charges need to be received prior to the portrait being  mailed.

Gift certificates are availabe and are a good idea for the holidays, especially when the demand for portraits can be high.  Portraits spaces for Christmas fill up quickly.

      REFERENCE PHOTOGRAPHS

Reference photos need to show the pet or animal close up, if at all possible,  as well as in a preferred pose.  I can work from a combination of photos and often more than one photo is needed to show the desired pose as well as details of the animal's face and the animal's true color.  If you only have one photo, let's look at it and see if any other information is needed.

If you are taking pictures of an animal for a portrait, it is best to take them without a flash and to zoom in on the animal from a  slight distance.   It is best to take the photo at eye level with the animal, not above or below.  Taking photos outside is best with the animal in partial shade or the light at your back, shining towards the animal.
